The GIA color grading scale is a widely accepted evaluation standard throughout the industry. It ranges from D (COLORLESS) to Z (LIGHT). The color is graded by comparing the diamond to the color of control stones that are marked with letters. Every letter represents a specific color range and tells us how clearly recognizable the color is.
Most people believe that diamonds are colorless. In fact, entirely colorless diamonds are extremely rare and thus also very valuable.·
